40 mpg A8

I've driven the A8 4 litre diesel and must say it's much nicer to drive than
the 4.2 gas. Much more torque down low and doesn't even sound like a diesel.
Managed a top speed of 178 MPH (converted from KM) coming into Frankfurt Ge
on the Autobahn. Have a friend whom has worked for Audi in Neckarsulm for
years and years and he insisted that the car was governed at less than
that...But, pictures and videos don't lie!

 

Will be back there in several weeks and have made my car reservations.
Requested an A8, but not guaranteed... Last time had a S class Mercedes....
(Waa!) Also hoping to get another factory tour while there... Went several
years ago and was very cool!

 

Anyway, I've NEVER gotten that kind of mileage with rentals.... Especially
when you hit the "speed de-limited" signs!!!!

 

Really a shame they don't bring that engine over... Runs great and is fairly
decent in fuel.
