Three Audis at Daytona Beach U-Pull-It

Yes, "new" steel products have a certain percentage of melted scrap. The
main reason the junk yards have a smaller inventory is due to the rise in
steel scrap prices. The old business model was "sell every last piece and
when nothing is left, scrap it," is now "sell every last piece of major
hardware or non-steel (engines, transmissions, seats) and scrap everything
else to turn a fast profit." Non segregated scrap (like a car, as opposed to
my business scrap of segregated Cold-rolled steel, stainless steel, etc.)
has less of a value than segregated scrap, but it's still worth 100's of
times more per pound what it went for 3 or 5 years ago.
