Broke 5k power seat

I'm troubleshooting the driver's side seat in my 5kcstq - I replaced the trashed
beige heated power seat with a black one from Force5 that's in much better shape.

When I originally replaced the shredded driver's seat, the electric adjustment
and memory controls all still worked.  They also worked on the new seat after I
was done with the swap.

However, when I had finished replacing the rear seats this weekend, I noticed
the driver's seat electrics were no longer working.  So I've tried some things
to try to track down the problem.  Here's what I've found:

-- Swapped old seat in, all the electrics work.
-- Swapped new seat back in, still nothing works.  Nada.  Completely dead.
-- Swapped old seat control unit and power relay into new seat, no joy.
-- Passenger seat works no matter which seat is in.
-- I can take the 9-pin power connecter on the floor of the car off the new
seat, plug it into the old seat, and the old seat works.

I'm not sure what else could be causing the problem.

Trying to follow the Bentley is giving me a headache.

Any BTDT?  What should I look at next?  Man, nothing is ever easy with this car...
