Old Vs New type distance sensors

Hello to all,

I have a question about distance sensors on typ44 cars.

I have old style '85 Audi 200, but recently swap whole interior from newer '89 Audi 100 quattro. As you know my tranny have hall type distance sensor, and my new speedometer wants to see pulses from rid type distance sensor. Is there any difference in two signals (old Vs new)? Is there two different speedos for old and new style distance sensors, or just the sensor differ between years?
