Audi 5000 Diesel Conversion

Maybe someone pointed it out and I missed but there is
a belt driven vacuum pump mounted to the rear of the
cylinder head on the Audi turbo-diesels. Pulley is
driven by the cam shaft as is the injection pump belt.
The tach signal is from the 'W' terminal on the
alternator.
I saw a "New in the crate" Audi turbo diesel engine on
E-bay last year. It was a TDI complete with computer,
harness, accessories, etc. I think his reserve was
somewhere north of $3K.
Even with the higher cost of diesel fuel I think the
increased efficiency would make it cheaper to operate.
Have fun
Jim
