4000 CS stumble on way to redline

 Little late to the convo here, nut I'm all for the FPR too. This happened to me in my 84 red CGT. I actually bought the car that way, and the PO said that high rev stumbling/jerking was one of the problems he knew about on the car. Popped in a used FPR I had sitting around and voila!, problem solved.

As stated here previously... if you hit a "brick wall" at about 5200 rpm, you have the wrong FPR.  If you can get past that and slowly struggle upward...

If cap and rotor "look a little worn" they are probably seriously in need of replacement.  As might be other "tune up" parts.
