In desparate need of a voltage regualtor in Phoenix!

If this is still an emergency, remember all he probably really needs are 
brushes.

I have picked up a pair (with springs and leads) at a hardware store, 
that were slightly oversize (like 1/4" by 1/4") and filed them to the 
right size and had them work fine.  About $5 or so.  Soldering required.

Of course, since he will need to pull the v reg to make sure he gets the 
right brushes, he'll need another way to get to the hardware store...
