No personal experience with that particular tool yet, but I think 
Peter's on the right track. The link in the first response was to a 
tool for removing round pin type contacts in the AMP CPC (circular 
plastic connector) series. I don't recall ever seeing a circular pin 
and socket anywhere in the older audi electrical systems short of the 
Kostal connectors in the kick panel of the early type 44s. All the 
contacts I've seen are various widths of the flat blade style and they 
need a skinny rectangular probe to release the locking tab.
