Sorry to take so long getting back here to thank all who responded to my
hybrid question. That's what I love about this list - pose a question and come
back in a couple of hours and find a dozen replies in your mailbox - you guys
are the greatest. I guess I just want to explain the reason for my question.
Its not that I'm a tree-hugger or anything like that. And not being a
gear-head, I also wasn't thinking so much in terms of the quality of the technology
of hybrids.....

I had been listening to talk radio. I can't recall what show or the guest's
name (LOL) but after listening to what he had to say, I got a little paranoid
remembering the oil embargo of 73. Although I was barely old enough to drive
in 73 :-) I vividly recall the horrendous lines for gas. I had a car, at
the time, that practically overheated at a traffic light stop so those lines
were really torture for me and all I could think about was how I never want to
have to go through that again. So then I thought: Gee with a vehicle that
gets better gas mileage, if that were to occur again (God forbid), at least I'd
have to brave those lines less often.

I've got to turn off that radio.

at least its time for the top to go down on the Miata
