I had just drilled out 2 studs, one end is soldered to front metal plate and
other end is rivet end. They came out easier than I thought they would come
out. Now I need 2 screws 4cm long and 2.5mm in diameter.

Subject: [WT-Audifans] Combination Switch Assembly

> I have a 1986 Audi type 44 Quattro. When the headlights are on the high
beam switch stick is in the off position for high beams, when pushing it
goes in another position to turn on high beams. Problem is when in the high
beam off position the stick has to be pulled a bit to turn off high beams,
the high beams can go on by themselves if the turn signal stick just eases
forward a bit in the high beam off position. So I have to drive around
pulling on the stick time to time to keep the high beams off.
> I took off steering wheel, took off combination switch assembly, pulled
off from wiring, took off 4 Phillips screws in housing and took out
electrical assembly. To my surprise the solder got loose on one of the stems
holding both halves of whole unit together by the turn signal side.
squeezing together might remedy the problem. I thought of drilling out
original long stud, which on 1 side is soldered, which came off, the other
looks like a copper coloured rivet end deep in plastic housing.
