aftermarket radio install 87 5000 CS quattro

I have a 1987 5000 CS turbo quattro, 

the PO retained his aftermarket stereo, and indicated that I wouldn't need any special Audi adapter to hook in my own. 

so would all I need then be my Wiring diagram from my bently and the car radio?


Factory plugs have been clipped.. which i hate, but can deal with to some degree. 

also my radio doesn't have an extra input jack, but could I add one to the speaker outs? 
would the BOSE speakers and amplifires stock in my 5000 QT be able to properly amplify an input from an Ipod or similiar MP3 device?

or should I just go with my FMtransmitter for that?
