It won't go into gear!!

Hi All,

Some thoughts on this problem:

It seems odd to me that the car won't keep running in gear. Or is it that
you haven't tried to keep it rolling once it has lurched with the clutch
pedal depressed?

Assuming the clutch is stuck, and a shock is required to break it loose,
would sudden braking to lock up the wheels work better than galloping around
on and off the throttle? I've never done either, so this is partly a
hypothetical question.
