It won't go into gear!!

Thank you all for your replies, I trully appreciate
them!!

running in gear. Or is it that you haven't tried to
keep it rolling once it has lurched with the clutch
pedal depressed?"

I have not "tried to keep it rolling once....."

As soon as it started stalling/bucking wildly, I would
turn engine off, thinking it was bad to keep on
forcing it.

Now I now better, and will push it until the clutch
breaks loose, as per the consensus on the culprit. 


Brayd; "Assuming the clutch is stuck, and a shock is
required to break it loose, would sudden braking to
lock up the wheels work better than galloping around
on and off the throttle?"

I don't know the answer to that.

Again, many thanks for taking the time to shed light
on the possible culprit.

On Sunday, my day off from work, I will put into
action the suggestions given by all of you,
particulary that of John Larson.

Brady; "Quantum Syncro Wagons are cool. Hope you get
this fixed soon!"

I think the same and that's why I'm not giving up on
it just yet. That's despite the fact that after I'm
done fixing this problem, the car will need a new
paint job thanks to hurricane Wilma last year, which
scratched up the paint and put a few dings here and
there as debris flew all over the place.
