Nolan Gilliam, Audi 4000 cs 87 CoilOver problems

Just put on Some brand new Eibach Ground Control coilovers and Bilstein struts. I've only put them on the front so far and they work fine and feel super great, but when the steering wheel is cranked one or both of the springs (not sure) makes a popping sound or creaking maybe. Its like they're readjusting themselves if the wheel is turned to far. Im nearly postive i put them together right but my stearing alignment was off before i put them on. Im waiting to align the car after i get new wheels...Could that be the culprit? The springs came with these little rubber O rings which didn't seem to fit anywhere so i left them off. Any suggestions?
