Thanks again Huw,

>probably wrong.

Dropped into one shop today but they haven't worked on CIS in a while...deal mostly with Volvo's..they have one guy there that has worked on CIS alot but wasn't in today...I said that if I don't make any headway this weekend, I'll bring the car to him...hate doing that though but not to proud to go to the pros when I'm licked (hasn't happened yet but it will someday).

>Not the one holding it, (the ISV) the smaller one that is forward of it, is a

I looked and the one forward of the ISV tonight but didn't have the time to take it off...looks like it has three ports- one to the intake, one to the ISV and one to what looks to be a PCV coming from the octopus holding the ISV. Is this the one you mean?

  spare fuse..
>Yes, good. To double check it, pull it and make sure it is the
>receptacle that has terminals in it for the fuse.

  Quadruple checked now.

  >No, not really. The ECU is mounted to the right side of the glove box,
>the heater core is centrally located, to the left of the glove box.

>However, things like windshield leaks could get to the ECU.

No leaks that I'm aware of...

>Do you have a meter to check the (very low) current to the control

My meter:
  200mV-600V DC
  2V-600V AC
  200-20mega ohms
  20mA-10A DC Amps
  20mA-200mA AC Amps
  1mV resolution,2V range diode test
0.1 ohm resolution, 200 ohm range continuity test

  Sufficient?

  John
