The ring is on top of the fuel tank. Removing the ring releases the sender
assembly so you can pull it out of the
tank. It will be obvious when looking at the ring, which way to knock it
loose. When working in the in the trunk take the
gas cap off. This will let some of the fumes out of there instead of in
your face. Also I would place a blanket or small rug over the edge of the
trunk opening. This serves two purposes. It's more comfortable on your
legs when in the trunk. 2. If you're all the way in the trunk you can't
get locked in trunk if the
lid comes down.
