The infamous "Micheline Man" hose.  Aftermarket parts are available. 
Samco makes an excellent (silicon?) replacement, but it is not cheap,
either.  Google the archives:

I don't know anything about them (except that they in the

That's as good a place as any to start looking. Since
Audi uses switched grounds, exposed wires in the door
jamb bellow may short, causing all sorts of funky
