Cabriolet Top Stopped working

I remember someone was trying to troubleshoot their cabriolet top at  
an Audi meetup years ago.  I believe they pulled fault codes from the  
control unit to find out what was going on, as there are a number of  
sensors.  I don't recall how they did it...maybe with VAG-COM.
