I once had a glass guy come out and do just this - for $100. Most auto
glass operations run "mobile," since people bring their car to their
local shop and the shop jobs it out.
In this case, he had to remove one windshield carefully (at my risk),
one without worrying, and install the better one.
For $500 I'd expect a new windshield and complete detailing...
PS, don't try gluing it, do it with the seal the way it is designed.
Everyone always mumbles about using "a piece of string" to work the
rubber around the glass as it goes in.
PPS, the appropriate lube is just soapy water (or plain liquid soap).
Soap, um, washes off afterwards.
