Are you sure it's a "rubber piece"? A common point of failure
is where the fuel lines runs through a rubber-lined clamp. In
northern climates, where salt is used on the roads in the winter,
that saltwater gets between the rubber and fuel line, lingers,
and causes corrosion and leaking of the line.
If that is the case, you might be able to patch the corroded
piece by cutting out the bad portion, and splicing in a piece
of high-pressure rubber fuel line, clamped (maybe doubled
clamped) to the remaining metal fuel line.
However, being close to the cat, that splice may be better if
it were made of metal. Perhaps you can craft a metal line from
someplace nearer the fuel rail, to someplace away from the cat.
Maybe joining the splice ends with a short bit of high-pressure
rubber fuel line.
