PA is quite hospitable. Ha!

I was pulled over AND given a ticket for 75 in a 65 on I-80. Bright sunny
day, no cars around me, I was wearing a suit and driving my S4. The officer
was quite nice, but geesh... probably pulled me over because I'm from NY.

It was only 1.5 hours from my house... I went to court. I overheard the
justice and the trooper talking about last weekend's bike trip together. I
was screwed. Long story short, I ended up pleading guilty to 67 in a 65 or
some such nonsense. The justice told me I'd get a refund (due to lesser
speed/points) in the mail. Oh, I didn't mention that to plead NOT guilty in
PA you have to PAY the entire fine and court costs up front (or plead
hardship) before the trial? My "refund" was under $10.00.

The Trooper was very nice. We were the only 2 people there and ended up
chatting in the parking lot for most of an hour. Too bad it wasn't BEFORE
the hearing. Interesting tidbit; At the time (at least), the Trooper told
me that he wasn't allowed to issue a ticket for less than 6 MPH over the
limit.

It never showed up on my NYS license. Don't know if that's normal or
because it was 2 MPH over the limit.

Don't get me started on how to work on a 1/2 mile section of interstate, PA
closes 20 miles.
