Hi!
I'm trying to mount an aftermarket oiltemp gauge in my 100 Q -87. My
problem is that there isn't a clue in the gauges manual of were to mount
the sender. I've looked in the VAG ETOS and in my Haynes book (I now I
now... but their book for my 80CC -85 were good) and my best guess is to
replace the screw in the oilpump that holds the pressure relief piston.
There is some sender that can be mounted there according to the ETOS but
it doesn't say for what. It "feels" like a good place but does the oil
flow there all the time?
My engine is a 2.2 HX (138hp)
Btw: My 80CC lost it's alternator belt once, the problem isn't battery
power it's heat! The waterpump is driven by the same belt, when cold
(lost it short after start) it could run for about one km before the
temp rose uncomfortably high. I had about 8km to the shop and I must
have started the engine at least 10 times by the battery and more times
by the cars movement (shut it down as often as I could and had to take
one "long" brake to let it cool).
Thanks in advance
