NAC battery question

yes i would do ipod > recievcer > home speakers powered off of a battery
with a cheapo cpnverter. theyre all over teh web for 30$. 60watts outta be
sufficient?

several hours play time would be perfect! originally i was thinking of
renting a generator and dj equiptment, but the home kit will be cheaper and
way better than a boombox. we dont want it TOO loud as we will be right on
top of it.

this is actually for our bay to breakers float - which will be the ss minnow
from gilligans island. if noones ever seen B2B it's pretty incredible and
uniquely san francisco. imagine a sort of mardi gras meets burning man but
in a footrace [ok drunken 7 mile stumble in costume pushing a float]. the
creativity is reallly something to see. my personal favorite ar the guys
that dress up every year as salmon and run the race finish to start.. =)
