My '94 100S with V6 and auto/FWD has over 160K on it. I suspect
(hope) it will be good for lots more. And yes, the lack of power
may have something to do with its longevity.
Mine takes a while to warm up in this mild winter, so it is due
for a new t-stat. I haven't tried this yet:

I think the problems with the V6 have more to do with oil leaks
around the intake manifold (valley). For me, it's been "fill it
with gas and change the oil". My 200, OTOH, was more like a FIAT
(Fix It All the Time).
If you are that concerned, do a compression and leak-down test.
A blown head gasket or warped head should show oil in the
coolant. You may see mocha-brown spooge in the radiator cap, or
smell coolant in the exhaust when you first start it up.
