Rear brake advice after new pad install

Rotated them back in with a little pressure from a g clamp using channel lock pliers to twist them, used this mehtod a good few times before without any ill effects. I am gona go home shortly and strip the calipers off again, adjust handbrake etc etc see what happens then.
