Clutch creak / firewall crack?

Hello,
My 5KTQA is making a creaking noise when I depress / release the clutch
pedal, and it sounds like its coming from the fulcrum.
I've tried to get at it with spray lithium grease, but have yet to really
tear into it.
I've searched the archives and found any number of 4Ks that match the
symptom, that were traced to cracked firewalls.
Is this common on the 5Ks also?
