I take major exception to some of your statements:
Subarus have been consistently rated tops in crash testing the last couple
years- the Impreza and the Legacy are the top or near the top of their
class.
Parts cost for Subaru are way lower- I priced out a bunch of things and the
Subaru stuff is much, much less expensive.
If you prefer the Audi, that's fine, but those statements are just plain
incorrect.
The Audi is definitely a nicer car, no question about it. The Audi feels
like a much more substantial car (a lot more mass definitely).
As for reliability, considering that you're talking about an allroad, I
don't know how you can say that Audis are more reliable.
