used audi vs new (insert something else) Re: [acna_pcc] Audi drops free maintenance in '07

Having one of each (okay, mine's a Saabaru, but whom are we
kidding!) I would have to say that I'd have to agree on most points
with Taka. Parts (and yes, I've simply priced them as I'm trying to
set up the car for Solo2 D-stock, I haven't had to buy anything yet)
are definitely cheaper if they are common to the Subie and the Saab,
and safety is probably (other than the mass related issue, which only
matters in the less common (according to NHTSA!) vehicle to vehicle
confrontation the equal to (gasp!) the UrS, better in side impacts. Thats
supportable in crash test data by both NHTSA and IHI.

Not saying the car is problem free (tomorrow I get my seat driver's seatbelt
retractor, one cooling hose, and my rear hatch struts replaced under
warrantee,
and the car is 6 mo and 10K miles old!) and it's most definitely NO Audi in
terms of appointments (even in Saab guise), but to each their own. Since I
have
one of each, I can choose, anytime I feel the urge to turn an ignition key.
