Actually, the 1989 200q Avant is possibly MC-1. I just sold my 1989 200q
Avant and it was MC-1. I think the Avants may have changed to MC-2 later
than the sedans even though the interior changed.
I ran a qlcc chip and spring to boost to 1.8 and I swapped a K24 turbo in
for quicker spoolup. The car drove very nicely.
If your father's car is in fact a MC-2 it will have a higher compression
ratio and possible a K24 turbo. A K24 will spool quicker and be more
efficient than the K26 in your 5000t for the boost levels you are running.
Your father's 1989 200 should not pull past 1.4. Check the hose to the
wastegate for a leak.
My chipped 1989 200q Avant and my chipped 1987 5000cstq sedan never felt
the same even though they both were chipped MC-1 and had K24's. I even
swapped computers a time or two without making a noticeable difference in
the way each car felt.
Neither the 1986 nor the 1989 has felt like my chipped (2.4 bar) 1991 200q
20vt Avant.

Eric
