I only had to remove the cap on the Speedo needle and slide the Speedo
numbers off the Speedo. There are two screws under the Speedo numbers.
Do not take the whole thing apart. You need just a littlie space to pull the
old gear out and drop the new one in.

John,
This place appears to be offer the solution I need. Although $30 seems kinda
high for that little gear so I'll call them to check the cost of having them
do the repair for me.
Are there any real tricks to replacing the gear? Did you have to remove the
speedo needle to get at it?
thanks,
Dave C.
