I have been burned too many times sending cash over there for ebay
purchases.
works great and I have found that offering a few euros extra for the seller
to sign up for Paypal usually works quite well.

Subject: eBay Deutschland payments
Eric,
I think wire transfer kills the deal for most of us here in the US. When I
checked with my bank a year or so ago they told me there are substantial
fees and oodles of red tape/paperwork associated with international wire
transfers. I think the fee was on the order of $50 but not sure.
The few times I purchased from overseas eBay I either used PayPal or mailed
cash. PayPal is by far the simplest method but for some reason not many of
the German sellers accept it. I don't know why. No one ever complained
about cash but you are definitely taking a risk, more than with wire
transfer I think

Eric asks...
re: German eBay sellers ...
It looks like most of the German sellers request direct transfer into a
German bank account.
Is this easily done?
It seems like the buyer assumes all the risk. Obviously it leaves little
opportunity to contest payment if items are not delivered.
MAC: There are some used Audi parts on eBay Deutschland that interest me.
TIA,
Eric
