In Europe, credit cards are not very popular. In place, they have what they
call a "blue card" which is a debit card (with an electronic chip imbedded)
issued by their bank. 

Maybe that's why a Paypal account is not popular there, I guess.

PayPal is by far the simplest method but for some reason not many
> of the German sellers accept it.  I don't know why.
