Just my gut feel, but I think the 1.8T would be more
susceptible to abuse, even with a caring owner. Being
a smaller engine, with less HP and torque, the 1.8T
would require a heavier foot for equal performance.

2001 A4 1.8T   :  170 HP @ 5900 RPM  , 166 ft. lbs. @ 1950-5000 RPM
2001 A4 2.8 V6 :  190 HP @ 6000 RPM  , 207 ft. lbs. @ 3200 RPM
