reliability A4 V6 vs 1.8T

Ahhh but the fun of changing the oil filter on the 1.8T vs the 30v 6. Now
we're getting oil all over the place.
20V is a pain in comparison with the 30V. I'm speaking of Audi here.
I follow a few A4 groups and there seems to be a lot more problems (engine
and turbo failures) with the 1.8T 20v than with the 30V V6. I rarely see
anything about the 30V not getting you home. Both motors will share the same
problems such as t-belt and cooling failures but in most cases it is the
owner to blame for not properly maintaining the car.
I would rather put up with predictable oil leaks at 60k and still get to and
from during the problem than worry about the 60-100k kaboom of the turbo
motor and be left stranded. With a few ounces of prevention the 1.8
potential problems can be prevented provided you want to spend a little more
time around the engine. More frequent oil changes and a turbo timer are just
a couple.
Most of this said in respect to reliability and not problem prone.
The turbo is a fun car but I am enjoying the V6 and at the end of the month
I seem to put out a little less $$ on my 30V Avant than my son does on his
1.8 A4
