As it was mentioned previously, you would need to widen the transmission
tunnel and do a lot of other stuff in order to convert a '91 200q20v to
automatic.
You're opening up a huge nest of worms to make it FWD on top of that. You're
better off keeping it quattro and getting the appropriate V-8 auto trans or
UrS
auto trans from Europe.
At least with quattro and automatic, you're making a unique,
fully-functional car
that won't look like a hack job if it's done right.
I'm suggesting the 850 because it's a less expensive but good alternative-
have you
really looked at one and driven it? They're not bad- a friend of mine has a
'94 that is
holding up very well.
