Hi Nate,

In my VW QSW, which shares same engine/tranny as your
car, it did exactly the same thing. The culprit was
the fuel pump.

It had been buzzing for some time and one day I got
the bucking bronco syndrome and it die.

Tried starting the car and after 5 or 6 attempts it
would start but would idle very rough and crappy. Any
attempt to accelerate whether in first gear or neutral
and it died.

-Best Regards

-Louis
