'91 S2 trany (torsen) into '85 Coupe Quattro

Hi there,
Here we have one project car.. in fact this is a '85 Coupe Quattro with strange combination of ABY head, some NA 2.2 block and etc.. it must be at least 10sec car :)
however for drivetrane we choose torsen gearbox from '91 S2 Coupe.. yes now we have reverse gear (first backward, and second forward), and there is a major problem.
one driveshaft seems to be 10mm longer, while other look like 10mm shorter.. is this a cause of previous crash with this car, or it is possible to have different dimensions between trannies?
