Jason,
As everyone else has stated, you are indeed hitting the fuel pump cut-off
limits!
Personally, feel you're playing a dangerous game with just increasing boost!
My "opinion" of faking out the ECU..... The appropriate fuel and ignition
maps are not provided to match the increased boost and resulting power, not
necessarily a good thing for engine longevity!
Too many years turning a wrench, I have learned (the hard way) that cheap or
free is usually not the best path to follow! (meaning cheap normally equates
to more $)
Spend a couple of hundred $'s and get the ECU chipped. Fuel pump cut-off will
be raised and ign/fuel maps will allow correct mixture and advance. My 5000TQ
(retired at 400k) with IA modded ECU, ran great and got 30mpg on the highway!
