While well-meaning, that sounds painful - one guy is trying to hold up 
the tranny and slide it in straight, while the other presses the clutch 
pedal - which applies pressure in the opposite direction.

I think the key is really to have the clutch alignment tool on hand, to 
increase the odds of things going smoothly.

One clutch kit I bought came with the plastic tool.  Another didn't.
