Perhaps.

However.I have an '89 Isuzu trooper that has been converted to R134a and
the condensor is the only part that has NOT been changed.  Nevertheless,
it gives all the cooling that it ever gave.  Here in Pensacola, we have 
a HOT,
humid climate that is a real test of the effectiveness of an A/C 
system, and
in my experience, I'd have no qualms whatever giving an unqualified
recommendation for converting to R134a.
