i tried doing it that way, with the "move the lock
carrier to service
position"
but in the end thought "bollocks to it, i'll just pull
the front off"
i think at the time i didn't fancy fighting with the
polly V with only 6
inches to spare between the tensioner arm, the monster
grips and the
rad, and i think it mad eit a bit easier timing the
TDI afterwards, what
with locking pins and bars involved.
Not saying that it can't be done your way, just that i
didn't fancy it.
Also, it was my car and time was therefore on my side.
mind you i've just remembered that the rad hose
connectors were like a
clip that went through some slots in the rad inlet and
outlet behind the
hoses which, without being too technical, had lumpy
bits on the ends..
not band clamps as i suggested earlier. oooops

Remove just the bumper (2
