Add a quart of "Rislone" instead of your regular oil, change in 500 miles,
repeat twice. Change filter, do not use a Fram filter, please. Continue to
use the rislone and increase the milage for changeout. This worked on a 1977
Caddy I bought, the owner said he changed the oil, what he meant was he
added a quart when necessary.Never drained it. The valve covers were filled
with sludge leaving only enough room for the valve components. It took a
while to clean the engine out, eventually I rebuilt the engine.

No affilliation, etc, etc.

Here's a write-up in progress:

Includes autopsies of a Mahle and a Bosch oil filter. Soon I'll hack up the
dealer filter.

Let me know if I have forgotten to include relevant information.

ps -- Since it sounds like you didn't drive the vehicle with the pressure
severely low the bearings may be ok.
