HP brake hose to bomb

1987 5000 CS turbo quattro 85K miles. 

My HP hose is leaking at the end by the bomb, 

what are my odds that it's going to come apart, this was a southern car and garaged I think for it's first 16yrs. 

I have the manuals just haven't had a chance to browse thru them since i noticed the low fluid in my PS resivoir.

oh and btw my fluid leaking was RED   that can't be good...  shouldn't i Have green hydraulic fluid in there?  
or is it likely my 'new to me' Audi has been leaking for some time and the last owner just used ATF. ?

I have a newly acquired parts 87 5000TQ but haven't had the chance to dig in the 2ft of snow here to see if it's hose is any good.. 
theres also a couple in the local u-pull-it (same snow problem) that I may try to get 1st, as they're already up in the air.
