Distributor dis-assembly to get at the hall sensor...

OK, I've done the requisite searches, maybe someone has the answer
here...

I need to replace the hall sensor in my KZ engine. Easy enough to get
down to the impulse rotor, snap ring comes out but then how do you get
the impulse rotor off the distributor shaft? There appears to be a key
slot with a pin in it. The kit comes with a new pin for this. I'm
assuming that this is just a press fit but hand effort doesn't work. Do
I need to pull it off with some tool? Or remove the pin? But how?

I know a lot of you have done this given the volume of threads on hall
sensors in the archives, but no one seems to address how to pull that
impulse rotor off. I don't want to destroy it on the way out, because I
don't have a new one.
