The color coding for the 5 tube switch on the '84-88 5Ks are the same except
Orange = Red
White: vacuum from engine
Blue: rear unlock
Yellow: rear lock
Red: front unlock
Green: front lock
I assume from looking at the diagram that the "lock" tubes will cause the
respective diaphragm actuators to EXTEND outward and the "unlock" tubes
cause them to RETRACT. Sorry I didn't make that clear yesterday.
Louis-Alain, I've also attached the diagram to you, and another showing
the connections between all parts of the system on the 5K.
Also, the diagram on page 34.22 of the manual shows a "fuse" mounted between
the switch and the "branch piece." What kind of "fuse" could this be? I've
never heard of a "vacuum fuse" before....!
I'm dubious about the copyright legality of scanning entire pages from the
Bentley into the Wiki, but if you want to do the 4K entry I'd be happy to
add some info. for the 5K along with the tubing lengths. Later today I
could also do a quick diagram.
Cheers,
Alex
