center diff lock actuator shaft rubber boot repair -- possible?

The external rubber boot on the shaft of the center diff lock actuator has a 1/4 inch(6mm) missing section right where the shaft enters the actuator body. This is the part of the boot that has to flex the most during the in/out operation. The internal diaphragm of the actuator works fine.
ETKA does not list the boot as a separate part.
I tried using Permatex black sealant to create a new section. This actually worked well for about 50-60 in/out cycles. The Permatex didn't stay attached to the shaft end. Using a zip-tie worked to reseal that end, but I'm betting the Permatex will eventually tear at the zip tie.
I thought about using heat shrink tubing, but the shaft is 1/8 inch diameter, and the boot opening on the actuator body is 5/8 inch diameter.
Of course, I could just call Chris Semple for a used unit. Where's the fun in that?
Any ideas on how to repair the boot?
Suggested sources for a new boot?
Thanks.
