Front wheel bearing

The "CAREFULLY AND LIGHTLY torching the bearing" is to
warm and expand the inner races that the hub goes
thru, recall that the bearing had been previously
frozen.
That said; I would never hammer on a bearing or hammer
such that the shock load of hammering could be
transmitted to a bearing race surface that I expect to
have a long and happy life. Yes I know the races and
bearing rollers or balls are very hard and I know
people have done it successfully but it is still on my
"Do Not Do" list. Also on my "Do Not Do" list is torch
a bearing.
I have always just used a "Hub Shark" or similar or
pulled the strut out and used a press. Many machine
shops will press bearings out and back in for
relatively little $$.
Good Luck
