I always felt impending doom when I opened the license renewal package and
saw the Drive Clean (Ontario, Canada program) notice for my cars - the 1980
5k dropped off the testing list in 2000 and the 1987 5ktq was destined to
drop off the list in 2007.....then came a big scandal about bogus
certificates, etc. The recommendations were to drop the rolling 20 year
exemption and a couple of months ago I found out that they did just that -
cars made 1988 and later will always require to be tested and the last test
my 5ktq will require is this year WooHoo! Now all I need is to drop an
20vT in there......
Cheers!
