What kind of disks/calipers do you have on the car?  I have run into
similar with my 200TQA, some of the wagons had the vented (V8Q) disks and
some didn't, the parts books all called for the vented disks on the
Avant, but it didn't come from the factory with those, so I make sure and
order the sedan brake parts when needed.  There was a bit of mixing and
matching done by Audi on the various brake setups (CV joints too),  just
check to see that what you're installing is the same as what  you're
removing.
