Yes, because the old cars were so reliable.  The rear calipers don't  
seize, the plastic bits in the radiators and heater cores don't  
break, the hydraulic pumps, reservoirs, racks, power boosters, and  
hoses don't fail, alternators don't go bad every few years because of  
the low-down location, the blower motor -never- fails and is really  
easy to get to...

Get a grip, guys :-)
